Band

Colorspace was put together in 2005 by keyboardist Chris Durbin. After moving to San Jose, CA, he went searching for musicians to record and perform his original songs. Bassist E. Tibor Tarczy was the essential link to the rest of the rhythm section, having played with many of the area's best musicians. And Chris had worked in the same corporate/wedding party band with vocalist Leopold Lacy since 2000, so finding a vocalist was the easy part–Leopold was clearly the man for the job, with his great voice and riveting stage presence. A prolific songwriter, he also contributed two songs to the project.

The other band members, highly regarded and successful freelance musicians living in the San Jose area, are Ken Harrill on guitar, E. Tibor Tarczy (a.k.a. Endre Tarczy) on bass and background vocals, and Chris Miller on drums and background vocals. Percussionist extraordinaire Marquinho Brasil, from Alameda, CA, was also asked to play on six of the tunes. With his gigantic percussion assemblage, he added groove, atmospheric and timbales solo parts.

"Growing Pains", the first CD from Colorspace, was recorded in 2006 and is now on sale. The band is also available for booking. We love to perform, as well as record, and we put on a formidable live show.

Contact Chris Durbin for further information.
