Born in Oakland, California, Leopold Lacy started singing at the age of 5, imitating his older brother who would sing along with records using the record player centering spindle as a microphone. At age 13 he began playing guitar, and formed his first band at age 15. The band went on to become Pushin', which developed a large following in the San Francisco Bay Area, enabling them to put on their own shows, which regularly sold out.
He has since had the privilege to play and perform with such artists as Larry Graham, Wilton Felder of the Crusaders, and many other talented acts. He also had the distinct privilege of receiving vocal training from legendary vocal coach Judy Davis. With musical interests and influences ranging from the classics of the 30's all the way up to today’s rock, country, R&B, Jazz and Pop, he is truly a lover of all forms of good music, a versatility which comes across in his singing. |
